When the subject of the Chinese dragon comes up, there is no argument that these creatures have a distinctly "masculine" quality. In addition, these dragons are associated with the number "9." This is because the value of "9" is the biggest possible, single digit number. The Chinese dragon adeptly symbolizes powerful and auspicious energy. In particular, they are in control of the element of water. For instance, dragons are said to manipulate rain, hurricanes, floods, and other disasters. The dragon itself is an old symbol of good luck, strength, and power. When the Chinese dragon is placed on the human body in the form of a tattoo, the meaning represents intelligence, strength, good luck, health, harmony, and good will. One of the noted qualities of Chinese dragon tattoos is the flaming pearl under the chin of the creature. Chinese dragons have snake-like bodies with scales all over them. Naturally, these dragons have supernatural power too.

There are four primary Chinese dragon tattoos in symbolic form which are widely available. The first one is the "Horned Dragon" tattoo. The person who wears this form on their body chooses to be mighty in words and deeds. Another symbol is that of the "Earth Dragon." This dragon is the ruler of the Earth. It represents a connection with the earth and land for the person who wears it. The "Yellow Dragon" is the hornless dragon which is a representation of scholarly knowledge. The person who wears this symbol wants to be associated with the power of his or her intellect. Lastly, there is "Celestial Dragon." This dragon is the Protector of the Gods. People who desire to confirm their spiritual path, or who have strong spiritual convictions, tend to prefer this symbol. The Chinese dragon tattoo is becoming more popular because many people are wearing them.

The Chinese dragon has a very authoritative appeal. According to legend, the earliest emperors of China were closely related to a dragon. At the end of his reign, the first emperor of legend, Huangdi, was thought to have been immortalized into a dragon which resembled his imperial emblem. Later he ascended into Heaven. Another legendary emperor, Yandi, was born by his mother's telepathy with the aid of a dragon. Since the Chinese consider Huangdi and Yandi to be their ancestors, they often refer to themselves as "the descendants of the dragon." These legends started to influence the usage of the dragon with the official symbol of Imperial power. In some legends an emperor might be born with a birthmark in the shape of a dragon. One legend tells the tale of a peasant born with a dragon birthmark. This peasant eventually overthrows the existing dynasty in order to establish a new one. Another legend tells of a prince who is in hiding from his enemies. He is eventually identified by his dragon birthmark.

Of course, actual belief in the dragon of folklore is quite sporadic. The worship of the Chinese dragon may be ingrained in the culture of China. However, very few people consider dragons to be real creatures. Cultural traditions like Chinese New Year celebrations often feature the dragon in a parade. For most people, dragons are just representations of qualities people aspire to have. Regardless of the legends, Chinese dragons make excellent tattoos for all these reasons. They are personal representations placed on the human body. They represent qualities like power, strength, intellectual ability, good fortune, and authority which are universal in their appeal. The Chinese Dragon is a big part of being truly "Chinese!"

Harlan Urwiler is the CEO of HRU Enterprises, Inc. This is normal and the reason I wanted to bring this up is because you need to think about your tattoos before you get one. What some people do is they will walk into a tattoo shop and simply pick something out that they like. Since a tattoo is permanent you will need to think about what you are going to get and make sure that you love it unconditionally.

Advice On Picking Your Next Tattoo

Take Your Time - It is important to spend a little bit of time to think about your next tattoo. The reason why you need to take your time is because when people rush a decision it will normally come out wrong. Do yourself a favor and if you are thinking about getting a tattoo make sure that you spend at least 1 week contemplating the final design. I know this might seem like a long time but it really isn't.

Get Something Small - I have tattoos so I know that sometimes you want to get something big that makes a statement but sometimes that is not the best way to go. If you are going to get something big then go ahead and plan for it, but get small tattoos that make up a big piece. The reason I recommend getting something small and then expanding on it is because you won't be able to tell when enough is enough until you actually see it on your body.

Customize It - The final tip is to just customize your tattoo. If you are looking at something on the internet then I would print off the picture and see about adding little things to it to make it your own. It is important to make a tattoo all about you as you can because in the end it will be permanently inked on your body.

The last thing that you need to understand is that every tattoo is different so don't worry if yours is a little different from what you were originally thinking. If you are going to get some advice from a tattoo artist then that is a good idea just make sure that you don't change your entire plan just because somebody told you to, remember this is your tattoo. Whether you are getting shoulder blade tattoos or something on your forearm, you need to get something that YOU love because that is all that matters.

Of there is one tattoo that I would get it would be shoulder blade tattoos.

Great Tattoo Ideas for Women, Men

Great Tattoo ideas for Women - Sexy, Stylish and Weird Fashion

Women like wearing jewels and ornaments to style themselves. You might be surprised at the fact that it has twice as much opportunistic pest than the walking and talking variety that we usually see and encounter every day. As a tattoo fanatic, it is very frequent for you to experience that ecstatic feeling every time you have a custom tattoo design in mind. That ecstatic feeling is usually coupled by a sense of urgency: you feel like the world will not move until you get that idea inked in your skin. Unfortunately that same "right here right now" attitude is going to cost you a lot monetary-wise. Let me give you a low down on the three ways to lose money on your next tattoo designer.

1) Being overly impulsive - Ok, so now you have a custom tattoo design in mind: what's next? If your next step is to put that idea in your skin this very instant, I say you're not only in for a load of monetary wasting scene, you're also in for tons of regrets. I know; you're excited to have that random thought reek its way through your skin: but before you actually get inked on, let me tell you that there are a lot of designers out there. The first one that you meet in your search will not be your last option. You will eventually see someone worthy as you move along your search. Creating your own tattoo design contests via tattoo design sites will give you an opportunity to see hundreds of designers interpret your idea. The contest that you have created will attract hundreds of contestants if you will offer a prize to the artist whose interpretation you will fancy the most. The next time you feel the urge to get inked on after an idea pops up in your head; I suggest you pause for a while, take a deep breath, and log on to your favorite site.

2) Taking friends' referrals very seriously - You got friends because you share common interests with them. It wouldn't hurt to be appreciative every time they recommend tattoo designers, but just to be on the safe side, you have to exercise caution in actually getting the services of their referrals. That new tattoo you just saw on your best buddy looks good on him - right? But just because the artist did an amazing job on him, it doesn't mean that same artist is going to do the same exceptional work on you. The method that artist applied on your friend might or might not work on your case. If you tend to generalize all the time, then I suggest you exempt your tattoo predilections from it.

3) Being inked by someone you just saw online - The good thing about creating these contests is that you get to see hundreds of takes on custom tattoo design. You are not just asking some online fellow to do his take on your idea. We are talking about tattoo professionals here who use custom tattoo design sites to show their skills in skin art.

Kristen Sauerzopf is a tattoo enthusiast and professional tattoo designer who has created thousands of thought provoking, elegant, and funky tattoos for her clients. She has a vast collection of custom designs to her credit. Winner of several awards and accolades, Kristen is now a founding member of the world's largest custom tattoo design community at CreateMyTattoo. For example something that is becoming a big talking point in the tattoo removal department is the use of tattoo removal cream. Could this be the new and improved non-invasive way to get rid of all your unwanted ink?

How A Tattoo Is Formed

To begin with you need to know the basis of a tattoo. You need to know that it is not just ink in your skin but instead that it is ink that has formed pigments under layers of skin and the size of these pigments disallow the body's immune system to get rid of the ink.

How The Cream Works

Most creams recommend that you use them every day as you get out the bath (some even recommend before you go to bed too). All you have to do is rub the cream into your skin over a course of about 2 months (this is just for small tattoos, you can be looking at over a year for larger ones).

In this period what happens is the cream breaks down the pigments under the skin slowly and this allows the immune system to get rid of the unwanted ink, by doing this over a period of time you are able to remove completely any ink that you have been dreading without getting any scarring that comes from lasers or chemical peels.

How Much Does It Cost?

This is the worst part of the removal cream or the catch as some of you would call it. The average cost for the cream on various sites is about $120/£80 for 2 months worth of cream. The fact that you'll probably need more than this could lead up to be being expensive especially if you have a larger tattoo that is going to need months of cream application.

Does It Really Work?

It may sound too good to be true and that is because it might just be. This method to take off tattoos doesn't have any scientific cases published that say that it actually works, you'll be going on the word of someone of the internet who claims it works when there is also going to be someone who claims that it's just a scam.

You need to realise that everyone is different and that you'll have different results with tattoo removal cream to someone else but this doesn't mean that you should do a background check on Google onto which company has the best feed back before you go on to make your purchase.

Tattoo removal cream is a debatable method on how to take off tattoos at the moment but it is your choice whether to use it or not. However if you're unsure about this method there are other alternatives that you could use.

How To Remove Tattoos At Home - Do It Yourself and Save A LOAD Of Money!

Many people wonder how to remove tattoos at home so that they can avoid going into surgery to get the unwanted ink surgically removed. Laser surgery and dermabrasion are two surgeries which will leave anyone with permanent scarring from removing their tattoo, not only that but it is very expensive and even more painful than getting the tattoo put on. Thankfully there have been methods that have arisen on how you can remove your tattoo from the safety of your own home.

Chemical Methods

These methods are the most popular to use since they are less expensive than going in for surgery but they are still expensive to buy the materials for and even worse since they are chemicals you may suffer from reactions and maybe even scarring!

This method is the method of rubbing a chemical onto your tattooed area. This then burns slowly (a controlled burn) and the skin starts to scab and peel (along with the ink). When the healing process starts again the tattoo will start to fade and after a few sessions you will have removed the tattoo.

This method is becoming more widely accepted now but it can take weeks to months to go through depending on the size of your tattoo.

A product that is debated about is the tattoo removal cream. People have claimed that the method works whilst there are also those that say it's just a waste of money and at about $100+ for one bottle that will last you 2 months (this process takes a few months to go through) this could be a problem.

The thing I would suggest is doing some thorough research into these creams (they are easy enough to apply) to see which ones work and which ones don't. It is going to be tough because not all the creams will have the same effect for everyone PLUS as it is a chemical cream you will have to make sure that you have no reactions to it so consulting your doctor prior to treatment will be a good choice.

Natural Methods

Yes there are natural methods that you can use to get rid of your unwanted ink! These methods will prevent you from side-effects such as pain, scarring, abrasions and everything else that comes from the painful surgeries and chemical methods that you can use on how to remove tattoos at home.

I would highly suggest the first thing you look into is how to remove tattoos at home naturally as these methods aren't painful, expensive, won't leave you with scarring and are simple to use too! What more could you want to get rid of unwanted ink?

Awesome Tattoo Designs for Girls

So you are a young lady and you want a new tattoo. You have no idea what you want, but you really want some new ink. Fret no longer. I am going to give you a few cute tattoo designs for girls that may end being your next ink job. Sit back, relax and let me help you make a good a decision.

Tattoos do not always have to be pictures. Most of the time they are, but lately words and script have become incredibly popular. A good suggestion would be someones name. And I do not mean your boyfriend who you have been dating for two weeks. That would be bad. What I mean is perhaps a friend or loved one who has passed away. This could be a great way to remember and honor them. It is literally a living tribute to that person. Do not rule out pets that have passed on either. Pets are often considered members of the family and always hold a special place in peoples hearts. So if getting a name tattooed was a direction you were leaning, it is a good idea and I hope this was the push you needed.

Another cute tattoo design for girls is getting a portrait. Again it can go along with the idea of losing someone you loved and wanting to remember them. I would again stress that you do not get your boyfriends face tattooed anywhere on your body, as that would most likely be another bad idea. But the person does not have to be dead in order for you to get them tattooed either. A lot of people get the image of their children tattooed on their bodies. It can be a nice way to always carry your children with you wherever you go.

Lastly, a really cool idea, that I have seen a few times is hatch mark tattoos to commemorate years of accomplishing something. More often than not they represent years of sobriety or years of quitting something. Though the background of these tattoos can be kind of sad, they can serve two cool purposes. They can serve as reminders of accomplishments, reminding you how far you have come in your life. And they can also serve as warnings or reminders in times of weakness. Either way, the therapeutic value alone makes this a great idea for a new tattoo.

Those are just a few ideas. I hoped they helped in your decision-making. Also remember that is a good idea to visit websites and do research to make sure you know exactly what you want and where is the best place to get a tattoo in your area.

Lillian E. is the founder of Tattoo Designs for Girls and hopes that her experience will guide all you ladies out there find the perfect tattoo designs for girls!

Don't Miss This Opportunity Ladies!

Get FREE designs... click http://www.tattooideasforgirls.co/?page_id=36

Temporary Tattoos - Helping You Make an Informed Choice

The key issue here is being able to make an informed choice and to sample our designs. You can't sample a needle tattoo, so the next best thing is a non permanent temporary tattoo.

There are many ways that tattoo images can be transferred to the body.

Traditional tattooing uses a spirit based carbon stencil which lays down a purple image as a trace outline. This is then needled in. Some temporary transfer tattoos follow this same procedure where the outline of an image is drawn onto cigarette paper and transferred to the skin with alcohol pads. Then a special cosmetic blue/black/green ink mix is applied by hand over the outline on the skin. This is then powdered back.

Another great way to create tattoos is by drawing the image freehand. For this purpose an excellent cosmetic ink is needed. The ink should be able to be painted on the skin as a fine line without any "bleeding". Longevity is important so a good design should last on the skin for one week or more.

Henna is another way of testing out designs. Henna, a paste made from natural plants with various added ingredients, is piped onto the skin. There is also an alternative henna which is a cosmetic red/brown ink.

With modern technology there is now another way of transferring an image onto the skin. Image outlines are screen printed onto cigarette paper and the image is transferred onto the skin with alcohol. You can then choose to hand paint the tattoos.

Images of tattoos have been used by the TV and movie industry for many years. More recently, TV shows and commercials have been using temporary tattoos to enhance the style and character of a scene. Usually the makeup artists at the production house will apply the designs.

There are many ways that you can try out temporary tattoo designs. Companies love the idea of using a custom temporary tattoo logo to promote their business. They supply the artwork and the image is stepped up in reverse and then printed by either a digital process or by offset methods. Digital tattoos can be printed the next day while offset temporary tattoo printing take three weeks. Custom logo tattoos are a real "ice breaker" for sales conferences; people are talking and networking right away.

Schools use custom temporary tattoos too for fund raising and to identify different coloured sports houses on event days.

High technology paper is available now for instantly creating amazing pieces of art. The very best result is obtained by using this paper and a colour laser printer. The paper can also be drawn on directly and then the image transferred to the skin. A number of years ago a cosmetic ink came onto the market making non permanent tattoos appear as realistic as traditional needle tattoos. The ink effectively puts down a "second skin", helping the tattoo last for up to two weeks; at the same time this removes the shine, giving a matte look to the tattoo. This allows you to photograph the tattoo at very close range without any need for photo retouching.

Did you know that you can also try glamour and luxury style tattoos? This is like adding jewellery before going out or fronting up for the catwalk. Temporary tattoos have always been considered somewhat taboo. Today temporary tattoos are readily accepted and even embraced as a way of expressing a person's personality and style. Movie stars are now embracing this whole body art arena.

Why do people want to wear tattoos? We think it is to impress, shock and amaze your friends, lovers and even your great aunt Betty.

Hopefully young people reading this will now be able to make an informed choice/decision about getting a tattoo and not having any regrets.

Raymond J Mellick The Amazing Raymond in 1989 spend 14,000 hours developing a better Temporary Ink and Image Transfer System designed for people with no special skill.
Our range of Temporary Tattoos products for fun and profit has been developed for ease of use and perfection of application and visual look

Visit us now

http://www.amazingraymond.com.au/

Popular Tattoo Removal Techniques

Getting a tattoo done seems to be a great idea. However most of the people get it done on a spur of the moment whim. Some prefer doing temporary tattoos whereas there are some others who opt to go for the permanent ones. It has been estimated that about seventy-five percent of people who had permanent tattoo designs done regret later. Once being done, tattoo removal becomes a very difficult affair. Tattoo is for life. There is even a saying--think before inking, which is very true. So, serious considerations need to be taken before you decide the tattoo design for yourself.

Most of the people make the mistake of inking the name of their boyfriend/girlfriend etched into their skins. This is the biggest blunder they do. Sometimes relationships do not last. What happens then? After a painful breakup these people cannot even stand to look at the name of the one's they were in love before. So they want to get it removed! But since it was not temporary tattoos but the permanent types, a lot of hassle, pain, time and cost gets involved for its removal.

There are several methods that are used today for removing tattoos. Now let us discuss some of the most common and popular methods of tattoo removal.

Laser removal happens to be the most popular technique. The laser rays are focused on the ink breaking it up into tiny figments. The immune system of the body then removes those figments gradually from skin. However, the person needs to undergo several laser removal sessions if he/she wants to get that marking completely removed from skin. This technique is usually bit expensive than other methods.

Another technique of getting rid of permanent tattoo designs is intense pulse light therapy. This method is quite similar to the laser removal technique. The only difference is that it makes use of concentrated light rather than lasers for demolishing the ink. However, this method is more efficient and less painful than laser removal process. Intense pulse light therapy is also quite expensive.

Many people would like to opt for a creative method to get rid of these permanent markings from the skin. When it comes to creativity, covering up the unwanted tattoo with a new tattoo design seems to be a great idea. For this, you need to take the help of an expert tattoo artist who can create a new design on top of the old one or blend the new one with the original in such a way that the original tattoo disappear or becomes less noticeable.

Using a fade cream for removing tattoos is also a good option. These creams break down the ink under the skin. When the ink breaks up, it starts getting reabsorbed in the body. Although this process is bit time consuming but it is a great option for those who do not want to spend much money for removal.

Tattoo removal is a very painful process. Is it going to be something personal? Is it going to be something girly? Maybe a little masculine? All of these have to be taken into considering before you find yourself in the chair and hear the needle buzzing. So before you commit to an idea, here are a few cute tattoo designs for girls that you may have overlooked.

The first one is not so much a design, but rather a location idea. Right behind the ear can be a cute location for girls if it is done right. Obviously it is a small area, so the tattoo can not be that big. And depending on your hairstyle it is going to be relatively exposed, so you want to make sure it is something that you are okay with the world seeing. In this area I would suggest a design that is longer than wider. And I would not make it too much longer than your ear. This way people know it is there, but you have control over whether or not people get a full glimpse of it.

On the more of the design side of things is the idea of a quote. Quotes, especially famous ones or ones that mean something to you on a more personal level are always cute tattoo designs for girls. Whether it be something inspirational or something you just like reading, now you can take it anywhere you go. And depending on the location of the tattoo, they can serve as words of wisdom to anyone who gets a chance to read them.

Band logos and names are becoming a very popular tattoo option as well. Most bands these days, and even bands from past generations, have logos that people often get tattooed. A few of the more popular ones I have seen are The Rolling Stones, Foo Fighters, HIM, and Alkaline Trio. This is a cool way to show people the kind of person you by your taste in music. And on a cool side note, a lot of bands encourage their fans to send pictures of their band inspired tattoos and often times post them on their websites. So not only do you get a cool tattoo, but it could potentially be put on the internet for everyone to see.

Also make sure you are doing your research before you commit to getting any kind of tattoo. It is a life long commitment and one you should never regret or a decision you make in haste.

Lillian E. is the founder of Tattoo Designs for Girls and hopes that her experience will guide all you ladies out there find the perfect tattoo designs for girls!

Don't Miss This Opportunity Ladies!

Get FREE designs... click http://www.tattoodesignsforgirls.co/.

What Does It Take to Design a Tattoo?

Have you ever considered what it takes to design a tattoo? Have you ever wanted to design your own tattoo? Maybe you think you have what it takes to be a tattoo designer? All these questions can and will be answered in the following paragraphs.

Artistry

Posted on the walls of hundred of tattoo shops in the world, are predesigned pictures ready to be inked on your skin. Equally static are the picture books, usually containing the same boring designs found on the walls of tired tattoo galleries. If you really want to find quality in your artist, you will be able to peruse as portfolio of hand picked favorites, chosen by the artist. Any self-respecting artist has a range of their proudest works available to look over.

Integrity

Many designers never thought hey would be in the world of tattoos. They spent their lives doodling on papers, drawing for recreation, or even tucked away in the office of some architecture or advertising firm. The tattoo bug bit them and they transformed into creators of living art tattoo patterns. Real tattoo artists, like any artist, hone and polish their skills. They go to trade shows and compare their works against other artists. They research those that came before them, as well as the fine-tuning methods that help to create body art that pops off the skin. Artists with integrity will never do a tattoo on a drunken person or someone too young. They must have ethics. They use the cleanest and most hygienic tools and practices.

Vision

If you walk into a tattoo shop, you may find several artists working in conjunction. Like members on a sports team, there are always weaker and stronger players. A quality artist will help to improve the work of younger or lesser artists. A careful search through the different portfolios of each artist will help you see which one has the greatest vision. Some artists specialize in a specific motif. An artist might be famous for portrait tattoos, while another may be know for extraordinary dragon tattoos. One guy might be credited with Japanese tattoo perfection, and one girl will blow you away with her lotus flower power. The main point to recognize in this is that each of these artists has vision. They possess clarity in exactly what type of tattoo niche they want to offer.

Confidence

As in any trade, if the artist does not have confidence, then they will eventually fall along the wayside. To design tattoos, one must trust their ability to draw or sketch. They must be able to see things that other artists do not. They have to explore the old and the new and the literal and the abstract. Above all, they have to present their ideas and works as professional, and be ready to stand behind their artistic choices. Otherwise they will be pushed into designing tattoos that no one else wants to do, and that is tragic.

Tattoo design is a matter for professionals. On http://www.magletattoo.com/ there is a collection of tattoo designs, review of tattoo designers, books and much more.

Skin Art Ideas - Getting Tattoos On Your Feet

Most people go for the obvious parts of their body when getting a tattoo. They usually have it on their back, chest or arms. However, few realize that the feet are also a great area to have a tattoo. So to help you, here is some information about the different foot tattoo designs available.

So, let's start with the bizarre and the unique. Believe it or not some people like to go for full coverage foot tattoo designs. These are tattoos that cover every last inch and centimeter of the foot! The main point to make about this type of tattoo is it is a real eye-catcher. However, this type of tattoo requires a lot of skill on the part of the tattoo artist so you need to make sure you find a good one.

There is a huge selection of designs that you can choose from. Usually, the designs are just patterns that cover the entire foot. However, some can also portray images of animals, zodiac signs and stars.

Collar tattoos are another alternative that go around the leg just before the ankle. The great thing about them is that they look like accessories and you no longer have to wear them or remove them every day.

Design patterns that are popular include angels, devils, Celtic patterns, flowers and religious insignias such as crosses. You can also have a temporary tattoo before opting for the lasting version, so you can see how it will look on your feet.

Many more people are opting for temporary tattoos before going for the real thing. This is a very sensible idea as it gives you time to live with your tattoo before it becomes a permanent feature. In far too many cases nowadays you hear about people getting tattoos on the spur of the moment and regretting the decision soon afterwards. A tattoo is something you need to think very carefully about beforehand.

So, once you have decided that you really do want a tattoo you then have to think about the design and where on your body you want the tattoo inked. Again, these are decisions that you need to take your time with to ensure you are happy with the end result.

Of course, any tattoo parlor you go to will have albums of designs ready for you to choose from. But to increase your options the best place to start is the internet.

Rad Woodeson has been reviewing products and services for over a decade now. His latest passion is tattoos and all the weird and wonderful designs that are available on the market today. Deciding to have a tattoo is a big decision so Rad has decided to look at the various options available to people on the internet. Take a look at his latest article on foot tattoo designs.

Tattoo Body Art - Understanding the Risks

These days getting tattoos as body art has become about as common as going to the hairdresser for some people. But although tattoos have become an ordinary procedure in today's society, it is important to understand the risks involved before you get started. Knowing the risks will help you to take the right precautions and protect yourself.

Obviously, getting a new tattoo design is exciting and novel and many people decide to get one on the spur of the moment, when in a new city or on holiday in an exotic country. Although this is fun and can seem like a great way to commemorate a special occasion, a tattoo should never be done on a whim.

Aside from the obvious fact that your tattoo will be permanent, there are some other risk factors that you will need to consider before getting tattoos as body art.

The tattoo is applied with a needle making permanent marks under the top layer of your skin with ink. The needle repeatedly pierces your skin all the while inserting little drops of ink under the skin. How long the process will take depends on the size and intricacy of the tattoo design.

The reason this should not be a split second decision is because of the complications and skin infections involved, along with the quality of the tattoo artist's work.

When you decide to get a tattoo as body art, you should first do some extensive research. Some complications could include allergies to the dyes used; an allergy could cause an itchy rash on the area of the tattoo. This could even occur years after the tattoo was done.

Skin infections or other skin problems may occur if the proper procedures are not followed, and blood borne diseases could also be a risk if the artist is not using fresh needles.

Along with these factors, before you get your tattoo design, you need to realize that like any artists, some tattoo artists will be better than others. If you don't properly research an artist and take a look at his/her work, you cannot know how the tattoo will end up looking.

So when you are considering getting tattoos as body art, you have to check out different tattoo shops for hygiene reasons and also for quality control. Try to find reviews online about the different tattoo shops in your area. If a place has bad reviews steer clear.

This is not to say that you shouldn't get a tattoo. Body art can be beautiful and will even define you as a person. Just make sure you take the right safety precautions so that the end result is exactly what you wanted it to be.

Now that you have read "Tattoo Body Art - Understanding the Risks" you could expand your information-base by taking a look at zodiac tattoo design or still more so by surfing to tattoos zodiac symbols.

The Changing Face of Tattoo Designing

Tattoos have been a traditional practice since the ancient times. The bad thing is that a lot of people experience this in some way and the reason is because they don't bother to spend a little bit of time thinking about what to get or where on their body to get it. Getting a tattoo in the right place is very important and that is why I want to help you with this sometimes troublesome task.

The problem with a tattoo is they don't come off without a surgical procedure and that is why it is imperative that you get the perfect tattoo in the beginning. Too many people think that if the tattoo is messed up then it can be fixed later on and depending on how big or extravagant the tattoo is, it can't be. Trust me, follow the advice that I give you below because at some point it will benefit you a great deal.

Tattoos You Should Avoid

Names - Something that I strongly believe is that a tattoo should never be a name of somebody that you don't love unconditionally such as a child, parent, or brother/sister. The problem with getting a name is that a lot of people get names of their spouses, people they are dating, and sometimes even actors or athletes that they like. Think about what you do before getting the tattoo, what if the person you are dating leaves you for somebody else, they would are you going to do with their name on your body?

Logos - Have you ever seen what some older logos look like 20 years ago. The problem with logos is companies and teams change them so often that your tattoo will be outdated very quickly. What I recommend is that you get something else that will symbolize a team or company because at least that way it won't look as outdated.

Faces - Are you thinking about getting somebody's face tattooed on your body somewhere? I know this may sound cool but I would honestly get something else. The problem with getting a person's face on your body is the tattoo articles barely ever does an exact match of the person and therefore your tattoo will not really resemble who you want it to. If you want to do something then I would try to come up with another idea because as soon as the tattoo is on you can't do anything to get rid of it (other than tattoo removal surgery).

Trust me, you need to think long and hard about any type of tattoo that you plan on getting. What I would recommend is that you think about more than just the tattoo, often times the tattoo looks great but the area of your body is not the best place for it.

What I would do is get a shoulder blade tattoos because you can do many things on a bigger canvas and they are easy to cover up.

Tattoo Removal Cost and What You Should Know About Tattoo Removal Methods

Due to the growing number of adults who get tattoos the tattoo removal industry has exploded in recent years. It's estimated that 17% of those who choose to get a tattoo will regret their decision. With nearly 45 million adults in the United States alone who have tattoos it is a significant portion of the population.

The most popular option for removing a tattoo is by using a laser to burn away tissue. While a small fraction of laser tattoo removal centers will charge minimal prices for sessions, the cost this procedure is very high. Each session costs on average $400-$800.

You then have to factor in that a professionally applied tattoo will take on average 6-12 treatments. When you add together all the costs of an average sized, professionally done tattoo it will cost somewhere between $2,500 to $5,000 to have an average tattoo be removed fully.

Of course laser removal isn't the only option for having body ink removed. There is dermabrasion, salabrasion, and surgical excision available. Keep in mind that these methods generally are not used very much by professionals anymore because they result in scarring too frequently.

It isn't as if these alternative options are cheap either. You'll be paying for the treatments, which usually will take around the same number as laser removal. You'll also be paying for the local anesthesia that the doctor will have to apply. Lastly, you'll be paying for all of the bandages and ointments that you will have to apply to your wound after the procedures. Obviously the surgery option will not be a cheap option either.

Perhaps the most important thing to consider about the cost of tattoo removal is the fact that these types of procedures are purely cosmetic. That means you will be paying every last dollar out of your own pockets. Insurance companies do not cover voluntary cosmetic procedures such as tattoo removal.

There is a cheaper method for body ink removal however that doctors simply don't discuss. The reason why is because they can't charge you thousands of dollars for it.

Natural tattoo removal is gaining much traction because there is scientific backing behind it. It's as effective as the other tattoo removal methods, but carries no pain and is a fraction of the cost compared to other methods. I'm not talking about shady tattoo removal creams either.

I'm talking about a full system that relies on natural products and specific methods for fading and removing tattoos.

There is only one course I would recommend looking at for natural tattoo removal. It is called Remove Your Tattoo Naturally by Sam Oldstone and it is hands-down the best course on the subject. He lays down the exact method for naturally removing your tattoo and explains the science behind how it works. I'm not a genius by any means, but the way he lays it all out is interesting and actually makes sense to me. I recommend you check it out here.

Nautical Star Tattoo Designs and Their Meanings

The nautical star tattoo design is easily one of the most popular styles of star tattoos. Long used as an image for protection and guidance through life, nautical star tattoos are today assigned many different meanings by their wearers:
Military meaningsGay and lesbian symbolismPunk rock groupsPersonal interpretations
The design itself is a five-pointed star with each point divided into two symmetric sections, of which each of these sections are colored with alternating light and dark colors.

Military and/or Navy Symbolism

Nautical star tattoos are said to be one of the earliest tattoo images in "modern" times. The design, well over a century old was worn by sailors to signify navigation by following the North Star, known as Polaris. Of all of the stars in the night sky used for navigation, it is the North Star that is relied upon most to return sailors home. Because it seems to be relatively stationary over the North Pole with the other stars moving around it, its fixed position in the sky is an essential reference point for navigation. In today's nautical charts, the direction North (zero degrees) on a compass is marked with a five-pointed star.

While other maritime tattoo symbols, such as the anchor and sparrow, find their inspiration in different ports of call or are used to commemorate the voyage and its perils, the nautical star is a much more hopeful symbol of being able to find one's way. By extension, it has also been used specifically as a symbol of the return home and sometimes the luck that is needed to reach that destination.

Other branches of the military have since adopted the belief that the nautical star keeps them pointed in the right direction and aids in their safe return home to their family and friends.

Gay and Lesbian Symbolism

In the middle part of the 20th century, particularly in the '40s and '50s, when it was still taboo for women to be lesbians, there were symbols that were used to indicate sexual orientation in women. The most popular of these was the nautical star tattoo inked somewhere easily hidden and also easily unhidden. The most common spot for this tattoo was on the wrist that could be easily hidden by a watch, clothing and other accessories. During the day the watch was on but at night when you there was a more likelihood of meeting like-minded people, the watch was removed so others could see it. Instead of taking a guess at a stranger's orientation and possibly embarrassment, homosexuals would look for symbols like the nautical and know that their secret was safe and was talking to a like-minded individual.

More recently, MANY lesbian women wear a silver ring around their middle to finger to symbolize their sexual disposition.

Punk Rockers

The punk movement adorns the nautical star tattoo design "because we can." The movement traces its origins back to Sailor Jerry, who inked thousands of sailors with "cool" designs. Historically, Sailor Jerry was one the most iconic and famous tattoo artists who ever lived. The thing that remains constant here is that this group also believes the nautical star provides guidance in their lives, pointing them on their own exclusive path.

Personal Interpretations

The nautical star tattoo design clearly shows that when the same powerful symbol is used again and again over decades of time it has taken on very different meanings for different groups. So all of those that you see sporting a nautical star tattoo might not all have the same interpretation of its symbolism.
Whatever that interpretation is, the fact is we all have our own ideas about what things symbolize to our own unique lives.

While the nautical star is regarded as a symbol of finding one's own path in life and finding ones way home safely, it obviously is a much revered and popular tattoo design in today's society. Now that you have a more broad based knowledge of this symbol, look around you and see if you now notice that more people than you would have realized are inked with nautical star tattoo designs.

Have a great day and shoot for the stars in your own endeavors.

Chris Orr

Selecting a tattoo design should be a very thoughtful and thought out process. My blog, Tattoo Designs Forever at http://tattooforever.blogspot.com/, reminds us that whatever tattoo design we select should be one that we plan on having, cherishing, and admiring forever.

Tattoo Designs for Everyone

Tattoos are now more common than it ever was and more people are getting inked up than ever before. Before heading to your neighborhood tattoo artist however, you might want to choose a tattoo design first. Choosing just one among many tattoo designs is the greatest challenge you'll encounter in getting the perfect tattoo for skin.

Before you decide, reflect on the reason why you want to have a tattoo in the first place. Was there an extremely personal experience that you want immortalized on your body? Is it to show pride for your heritage and culture? Or do you simply want a piece of meaningful art on your skin? Whatever the reason may be, knowing and understanding why you want a tattoo could help you narrow down tattoo designs.

A lot of people make the mistake of choosing a design that only appeals to them aesthetically. There's nothing wrong with that except that if you're going for a more personal and meaningful piece, the design should match your emotion of feelings.

Remember that a tattoo is a reflection of who you are and what you're about. Tattoo magazines may display amazing works of art that may be visually appealing but ask yourself, do these designs represent who you really are?

There are many magazines that feature tattoo designs from well-known tattoo artists. Some people just scan through these, choose a design and have it inked. That's also one way of finding a tattoo design for you but bear in mind that these designs may not be as unique as you'd want them to be. Because they are published and circulated all over the world, expect other people to have the same tattoo design.

If you prefer something that's uniquely and distinctively yours, you could ask or request your tattoo artist to come up with a design for you. Although it may cost more to have your tattoo artist sketch your design, it comes with many advantages.

First, he knows his own limitations so he'll draw something that he could ink on your skin with colors that are available in his shop. There are instances when a customer brings a ready-made design to a tattoo artist and it comes out slightly different so it's best to have him draw what he can tattoo on you. Secondly, you will be able to collaborate with him on the design that you truly want and have it tweaked to your exact vision. You could choose your own symbols and colors to make it more personal and more meaningful.

Remember that tattoos are a lifetime commitment so you might as well go for a design that you can be forever proud of.

Rad Woodeson has been reviewing products and services for over a decade now. His latest passion is tattoos and all the weird and wonderful designs that are available on the market today. Deciding to have a tattoo is a big decision so Rad has decided to look at the various options available to people on the internet. Take a look at his latest article on tattoo designs.

Tattoo Removal: Options for Getting That Tattoo You Regret Removed

Finding that perfect tattoo is sometimes hard to do. Though deciding on what to do and thinking about all the positive things is fun, thinking about what not to do and the consequences is probably smarter.

In this article we are going to take a look at some of the pit-falls to avoid when getting a new tattoo. Taking the time to read this article and perhaps do a little research could save you some horrible aches and pains down the road.

The first and foremost thing to avoid when getting your new tattoo is deciding to get it done on a whim. Do not just one day decide you want a tattoo, run to your local tattoo parlor and get inked. The only thing that is going to lead to is a lot of regret. Really take the time to think about what it is you want. Getting a tattoo is a life long decision, so make sure it is a good one and one that is well thought out.

Second, never get a tattoo anywhere except at a professional tattoo parlor. Making sure that your tattoo is done by a professional is probably the second most important aspect of getting a new tattoo. Your friend who can draw and just got a tattoo gun off of eBay is not a professional. And his kitchen table is not a tattoo parlor. Tattoo parlors usually operate at a high level of sterilization and safety. Knowing this, you can be sure that your cute tattoo design is not only going to look great, but your chances for an infection are greatly reduced.

It is also important that you do not get your new tattoo in a location on your body that is going to cause problems for you. For instance if you are a business professional, a tattoo on your forehead is probably not your best bet. Depending on the life you lead, both business and personal, make sure your tattoo is in an appropriate location. A good rule of thumb I have discovered is that if your tattoo can be covered by pants and a long sleeve shirt, it is more than likely in a good location.

Those are three things to try and avoid when getting your cute tattoo idea inked on. Always make sure you know what you want, a professional is doing it, and it is not going to be in a location that could come back to haunt you later in life.

Lillian E. is the founder of Tattoo Designs for Girls and hopes that her experience will guide all you ladies out there find the perfect tattoo designs for girls!

Don't Miss This Opportunity Ladies!

Get FREE designs... click http://www.tattoodesignsforgirls.co/.

Run Out Of Skin? Make Room For New Tattoos With Laser Removal

When you are young you often do things that you will later regret. One of these things that many young people do is to get "inked." Tattoos are cool at the beginning, but suddenly you are an adult who wants to look professional and that tattoo on your leg just doesn't reflect that type of professionalism. The answer for this is to get your skin art removed with some sort of ink removal. while there are creams out there that claim to remove or fade tattoos with time, the most comprehensive removal comes from the use of a laser and laser tattoo removal.

Can all tattoos be removed with lasers?

As technology increases, so does the permanence of tattoos. With new ink and new machines, tattoos are more difficult than ever to remove. Not all tattoos can be completely removed, after all, tattoos were meant to be permanent. However, with laser tattoo removal most tattoos can be removed with a series of treatments.

How does laser removal work?

Lasers use highly concentrated beams of light to break apart the ink of the tattoo in the skin, eventually allowing the bodies skin cells to eat up the remaining particles of ink. The procedure takes many sessions to be complete, depending on the tattoo. Also, while the heat from the laser is not damaging and does not burn, it could cause blisters to form on the surrounding skin. There is also the chance that the laser will leave behind a scar from the tattoo removal.

Who has the most success with tattoo removal?

If you have dark skin or are really low on body fat in the area of the tattoo, such as the ankle or foot, you may not have as much luck in removing your tattoo as someone with fair skin. Placement of the tattoo is also important. If the tattoo is on the arms or thigh or stomach, where there is plenty of body fat, your chances of success will be higher for removing the tattoo. Also, fair skin is less likely to show the remnants of a tattoo.

What is the process?

Removing tattoos with lasers will probably not be painless. However, each session is short and quick, and the after care is not really difficult. After a short laser session the tattooed area will need to be iced for about 30 minutes. Then, ointment is applied to the area just as if the tattoo were a sunburn. The area should remain dry and covered with a bandage for a few days following each treatment. Treatments are usually 4-6 weeks apart and the amount of sessions you will need will depend on the size and location of the tattoo.

Peter Wendt is a writer, researcher, and Texan. His own experience with tattoo removal in Dallas, Texas, went well and he encourages his readers that are curious about San Antonio tattoo removal to pursue their options.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://amazing-tattoos.blogspot.com/2011/11/run-out-of-skin-make-room-for-new.html' title='Run Out Of Skin? That is great. But now comes the hard part, taking care of your new ink. In the life of your tattoo, the first few weeks are the most crucial. This is the time when your tattoo is most fragile and needs to be maintained well so it will look its best forever. Here are a few tips.

Avoiding direct sunlight on your new tattoo is a must. In fact, it does not matter if your tattoo is new or old, sunlight is a killer to body ink. Here is a question, have you ever seen someone who clearly has an old tattoo and it is a kind of dark green color? Chances are that greenish color was originally black. But exposure to the sun over the years has turn it to its present state. You obviously do not want that. So avoiding direct sunlight is key, not only in the beginning, but throughout the life of your tattoo.

Also it is very important to leave the bandage on your new ink for as long as the artist tells you to. Yeah I know you want to show off your cute tattoo idea right away, but don't. Again, your tattoo is fragile at this stage, but also so is your skin. Remember that in order to get a tattoo your skin had to be broken, thus leaving it open to infection. Be smart. Do as your artist told you and keep your new ink covered for as long as you are suppose to.

Once it is time to unveil your design to the world, make sure you are washing it regularly. Use warm water with a not too invasive antibacterial soap. Doing this should keep the fresh wound clean and greatly reduce your chances of infection. If you fail to keep it clean and an infection occurs, you risk the chance of scaring, which in turn is going to ruin your ink. Again, be smart and keep it clean.

Along with washing comes drying, and a very specific way to dry. Do not, and I stress, do not rub your new ink. It is going to hurt and could potentially have negative effects. Instead gently dab at it until it is dry. This is going to save you from some pain and potential problems down the road.

Those are just a few tips on maintaining your new tattoo. Whether they are cute tattoo ideas for girls, or masculine tattoo ideas for guys, your fresh ink is gentle and should be treated as such.

Lillian E. is the founder of Tattoo Designs for Girls and hopes that her experience will guide all you ladies out there find the perfect tattoo designs for girls!

Don't Miss This Opportunity Ladies!

Get FREE designs... click http://www.tattooideasforgirls.co/?page_id=36

Significant Details About Japanese Tiger Tattoos

The symbol of the tiger holds a significant place in the cultural history of Japanese arts. The image of the tiger is most formidably seen in the various tattoo designs from different periods in Japan. A fascinating thing to note however is that the tiger is an animal rarely found in the country.

Although there have been instances of sighting tigers here and there the Japanese artists had no real exposure to the animal that could allow them to draw tigers by observing them. So how did the tiger become such a prominent part of the Japanese tattoo culture?

Actually, the Japanese had keenly noticed the tiger's skin. Then they sketched the whole animal with the pattern on the skin, and further completed the picture by detailing from their mental image. This could probably be the reason behind the distortions found on the tigers depicted by the art of Japan. As years passed by, these distortions gained a classical relevance in Japan and therefore became popular as the style of their art. The tigers that were portrayed in the Japanese tiger tattoo designs had unusually small ears, protruding eyes, giant paws and flattened nose.

Chinese paintings were also a source of inspiration to aid Japanese artists in designing tattoos. The tiger, an animal common to the Chinese, found importance in the Chinese arts. Referring to the Chinese tiger art, the Japanese artists made many tiger artworks that were then used in tattoos. At the close of the Edo age, ordinary people were finding ways to settle themselves in the society. At the same time, tattooing started flourishing. Tattoo art work was inspired by the wood cut blocks portraying tigers. A lot of these blocks are used even today to help in tiger tattoo designing.

In the tattoo pictures tigers are depicted in many postures. Several of these pictures truly resemble a live tiger, so much so that they belittle even the tiger art of China. Many of these pictures depict the abstract qualities of the tiger. The interpretation of the tiger tattoo pictures is dependent on the moving posture of the tiger. As an illustration, the animal positioned on a rock with a tranquil posture would indicate bossiness. The tiger bouncing vigorously with its claws forward would signify forcefulness. A tiger trying to catch its prey would indicate a resolute ambition-seeking quality.

In itself the tiger and people born in the year of the tiger are attributed with certain qualities. Inadvertently the tiger tattoo designs are also seen to carry the same symbolic meaning. Dominance and power are the obvious traits that the image of the tiger reflects. At the same time the tiger is known to be sensitive and loving towards his dear ones. Stubbornness and short temper are also part and parcel of the tiger's personality.

Japanese Mask Tattoos come in a variety of different styles. However, if you like the idea of body art, but don't want to leave a permanent mark on your skin, it might be worth taking a look at temporary tattoos.

It's not exactly known when temporary tattoos first appeared, but it's generally accepted that they were first commercially available around 1900.

Initially, they were created using food coloring and provided on special paper that was impregnated with the design of tattoo. These pieces of paper were then held over the desired area of the body and transferred to the skin using water. These temporary tattoos were widely distributed for free with various food products.

Initially, there wasn't a great choice of temporary tattoos available, but in recent years their popularity has grown rapidly, as have the number of products.

It has now reached the stage where they are regarded as legitimate pieces of body art and are widely used as fashion accessories.

At this stage it's important to bear in mind that these temporary tattoos only last a few hours or a few days. As soon as you wash the tattooed area the design will begin to break up.

It is possible to find other temporary designs that last slightly longer, such as henna tattoos, but that's the subject of another article.

The main attraction of temporary tattoos is revealed in the name. They won't last forever, so if you don't like the design, you won't have to put up with it for the rest of your life. And if you're the type of person who likes change, it gives you an opportunity to alter the look of your body on a regular basis.

There's also a sizable number of people who would like a tattoo but are concerned about poor hygiene, infection, needles or anxious about the potential pain of getting a tattoo.

Temporary tattoos are also a great way to help you decide whether or not to get a permanent tattoo. They can help you to decide the type of designs that you like, where to place them on your body, and most importantly, whether you could live with a certain tattoo design forever.

Temporary tattoo designs can be found online or perhaps even at your local tattoo parlor. And if you opt for a high quality temporary design it should look exactly like a tattoo of the permanent variety.

There are thousands of different designs to choose from ranging in size from tiny to large and covering a whole range of styles.

So you want a traditional heart and anchor design? No problem. Or how about the latest ultra cool design or perhaps a cute pixie on your shoulder? Temporary Celtic tattoos are also extremely popular.

It's also possible to get temporary tattoos that display words and phrases. So why not get a heart that bears the name of your partner? At least it doesn't present the same risk as a traditional permanent tattoo which may last longer than the relationship is represents.

And finally, if you can't find a temporary design that you like, there are numerous tattoo packages that allow you to design your own temporary tattoo designs. So you can be as artistic or as outrageous as you want.

You just create a design using the materials provided, then transfer it onto the relevant part of your body. And if it doesn't turn out as intended, it can be washed away with nothing more than soap and water. It's quick, it's easy, it's fun, and most importantly it's not permanent.

Tattoo Gallery Designs

You may already know what tattoo you are going to get. If not, where do you find your inspiration? The answer may be in tattoo galleries.

If you have been yearning to get a tattoo for some time, what is stopping you? Is it the apprehension of visiting a tattoo studio? Perhaps you're concerned about how much pain is involved? Are you worried about what other people will think of it?

One of key reasons may well be that you simple aren't sure what tattoo to get yet. Perhaps you have an idea of a general style but aren't sure of which individual design to choose.

So where can you look?

If you visit any local tattoo studios you will find many designs on the walls and in picture albums to look at. However from my experience the availability can be limited. After all, there are only so many physical designs that can be held in a room aren't there?

Added to that is the pressure of choosing something in a public arena. While you are walking around the studio looking at the walls, you will have other customers getting in the way and perhaps a tattoo artist that keeps asking you if "you need any help".

It's perfectly natural to feel a little rushed in this environment. The artist is only looking after you. But it's the same in any shop or store. Sometimes you JUST WANT TO LOOK IN YOUR OWN TIME!

You don't have to do this anymore. Much like any shopping experience, you can do it in the comfort of you own home. Here are some key points to help you choose an ideal tattoo gallery design.

1. Open Google ( or any other search engine) and type in "tattoo gallery". There will be plenty to look at. Pick a few from the first page and have a look through the sites.

2. Spend a lot of time looking at all of the available images on offer. If you're happy to pay for further access into a site then do so. If you want free, You'll find sites that let you look at the flash designs but not print them off.

3. Now, here's the trick. Once you have found the ideal design, get some tracing paper and put it on the computer screen (this works best with a laptop as the screen folds almost flat). Lightly trace out the design so that you have an approximate version of the tattoo.

4. Do this a number of times until you have a many copies. Now you can experiment with colours to see which you would prefer. The reason for doing all this is to spend time with the tattoo and to get a feel for the design, and make sure you are still happy with it. You may start to lose interest in the design after all this work which is a key indicator.

5. Take your drawings to a tattoo artist. Explain in detail what you want. Ask the tattoo artist to log onto the same site so that he/she can get a good look at what you have traced from. They should be skilled enough to drawing something up from scratch. Your drawings should have now some different colouring choices for you to discuss with the tattoo artist. They should be able to give you plenty of advice on colouring.

Looking for tattoo gallery designs? Then Click here

I've been a tattoo fan for 23 years and whilst I'm no expert, I have real life experiences of collecting this form of artwork.

Visit my blog for access to all my tattoo tips and reviews by clicking here

Where Can I Get My Tattoo?

If you've chosen a tattoo design, your next step is to find out where to get it completed. There may be a number of options available to you locally, in the form of tattoo studios.

If you're asking yourself the question, "where can I get my tattoo?", then it's likely that you are embarking on your first one. Most tattoo collectors with more than a couple of designs have been through the research phase and found favoured tattoo artists that they frequent.

Firstly, here is where you SHOULD NOT get your tattoo.

1. From a friend.

If a mate tells you that they are a good tattoo artist and will gladly complete your ink for a low-cost, or even free of charge, you should be thinking of running for the hills (unless you are indeed good friends with an experienced tattoo artist!).

Getting a tattoo this way is likely to end in tears. If they aren't at all experienced they will botch your ink and more than likely end your friendship for life. If they are thinking about doing it in the house there are also hygienic issues to consider. They are also probably committing all sorts of problems for themselves by not being licensed to work in their dwelling, and not paying tax. The Environmental Health Department would have a field day with them as well.

Don't consider it. Be polite and tell them that you are looking at other options.

2. Tattoo it yourself.

Look, anyone can try this. You can go online and buy all the equipment you need and play with it in the comfort of your own home. You don't need a licence to buy this stuff.

But are you mad? Do you really know what you are doing? No, I didn't think so. This is a bad, bad idea. Going to an experienced artist is likely to be cheaper in the long run anyway after all the mistakes you will make.

Where can I get my tattoo?

Simple. Start researching the local tattoo artists in your area. You can get all the information online and most will have their own websites with galleries to view and information to read.

Visit their studios and meet them in person. Ask lots of questions about their experience, the styles they prefer to work on, hygienic measures, after care etc.

Artists like to talk about how long they have been in the business and what designs they prefer. If you have chosen a particular style for your design, it might well be that some artists are more renowned for this style than others. Pick the best that you can and don't scrimp on the cost.

The end result is too important for that.

Where can I get my tattoo? Try a gallery. Click here

I've been a tattoo fan for 23 years and whilst I'm no expert, I have real life experiences of collecting this form of artwork.

Visit my blog for access to all my tattoo tips and reviews by clicking here

What Is The Origin of the Peace Sign Tattoo?

The peace sign tattoo is a popular choice and it's having a bit of a revival lately with skin ink fans. There is a history behind the sign itself that some may know about when they get the tattoo and others may not. There is also information about tattoos in general that may help you if you are deciding to get a tattoo, whether a peace sign or other designs.

The peace sign originally was designed in the year 1958 by a British artist named Gerald Holtom. He designed it for the movement for British nuclear disarmament and he designed the symbol to represent despair, making the symbol look like a person who held both their arms out in despair to the side. Nuclear disarmament was the original meaning of the peace sign.

Since then, the peace sign has come to mean so much more. It was enveloped by hippies in the decade of the 1960's during the so-called hippy movement as a symbol of opposition to the war in Vietnam.

Peace signs covered clothing, faces, and other body parts. There is even a hand gesture that represents the peace sign and is used to convey peace and harmony.

In modern day society, you will see people from all walks of life and income level sporting the tattoo. For some people, it is a corporate worker rebelling against the bosses and men or women above him and for others, it may be someone considering themselves to be a modern day "Hippy" and wanting Peace and Love for all. It is a symbol that is accepted by the broad base of society and has, for the most part, only positive association with it.

If you are looking for small feminine tattoos or want to get a tattoo and aren't sure exactly what you want, the peace sign is a positive and feel-good tattoo that everyone likes. You can get really creative and include some unique styles of Tattoo lettering fonts to include a quote or saying you really believe in as well.

There are many different styles and colors that can make up a peace sign tattoo so always see a tattoo artist who is a professional and understands your style, theme, and design. Be sure to know that the design is what you were thinking of before you have it put on your body in permanent ink.

People get tattoos to represent many different things. There are a variety of ages that get them, from teenagers to young adults to middle-age people.

Some people get them to look or feel cool, some have a very special and significant reason for getting them, and some have other reasons. A lot of people are even "addicted" to getting tattoos and have them all over their bodies.

Whatever the reason is that you decide to get a tattoo, know that it is a permanent part of you. Consider what part of the body you get it on, as certain things can sag and wrinkle as you age. It is not something to take lightly and you should think about it seriously before you get one.

Do your research, take your time to decide on the tattoo design that really resonates with you and your personal beliefs, and you will have skin ink to cherish for the rest of your life.

If you are considering which tattoo design suits you best, the information here should help narrow down your search and make a decision: http://www.squidoo.com/small-feminine-tattoos There are so many possibilities when looking for a tattoo design. There are a number of reasons why someone may want a tattoo removed including a changing body shape which distorts the design or a change of relationships. Often tattoos that look "cool" when young are completely in appropriate as one climbs the age and career ladders. The good news is that for those looking for a tattoo removal treatment is that there is a choice. The bad news is they can be both painful and expensive.

One of the most popular methods of tattoo removal involves laser surgery. The basic idea is that a burst of laser light is directed on to the tattoo which breaks up the ink. Once the ink has broken up the bodies natural skin shedding system will dispose of it. How effective and quickly a design can be removed will depend in part on the colors of the inks used in the tattoo. Dark inks break up reasonably easily but the lighter colors may need several treatments. Again the larger the tattoo the greater number of treatments will be required and this can prove to be expensive.

Another option is to have the tattoo removed by surgical excision which involves having the tattooed skin removed. In the case of a small tattoo the surgeon may be able to suture the skin but in the case of larger designs a skin graft might be requires. Again this can be an expensive option.

Another technique which is not quite so popular these days is Dermabrasion which involves freezing the skin and then abraiding or sanding to remove the design. Great care has to be taken to avoid scaring using this method. Although in fact there is no treatment which can guarantee returning your skin to the state it was before you had the tattoo.

Currently there are a range of tattoo removal creams on the market; some are considerably more effective than others. Often using a cream can be a slow process requiring numerous applications but some people have reported good results using creams.

It should be borne in mind that whatever tattoo removal treatment you decide upon your skin pigmentation will undergo a change. Those having such treatments are often advised to avoid strong sunlight and apply a factored sunscreen to the area of the tattoo site. Tattoo removal can be a long, painful and expensive process and the best advise anyone contemplating having a tattoo is to "think before you ink".

If you are looking for more information about Tattoo Removal visit our website at http://www.tattoo-removaltips.com/ where you can find another option that is well worth considering.

Ta Moko - Ancient Maori Tradition

Maori tattoo

The practice of making tattoos by the native people of New Zealand is ancient; it existed before the coming of Europeans. Tattooing is one of the most considerable events of Maori culture. The process of marking the body is called Ta Moko. These tattoos were worn to signify different things such as a rank, identity, family or tribal history, beauty and much more. The shapes and meanings of Moko are varied. All men had a tattoo on their face and on the other parts of the body except commoners and slaves. The right-side of the face marked the membership of the wearer's father; on the left-side it signified the information about mother's position and social rank. The male facial tattoo is divided into eight parts, each of them has their own name: Ngakaipikirau identifies rank, Ngunga shows the position, Uirere refers to hapu rank, Uma keeps the information about the first or the second marriage, Raurau marks the signature, Taiohou informs about the wearer's occupation, Wairua identifies the mana and Taitoto shows the birth status.

Women were also tattooed, but they had some limitations - back and legs, genitals, buttocks. The lips and chin were usually inked blue, it was considered beautiful.

The instruments used by Maori people were pieces of bone, shell, called uhi, which were struck with mallet into the skin. This process was painful; sometimes the cuts were so deep that they went through the cheek. The procedure was actually a ritual, with dances and different chants. During the tattooing process people were prohibited from eating and having sexual relations.

The Origin of Ta Moko

According to Maori ancient myth, tattooing started with a love affair between a young princess, named Niwareka, and a young man - Mataora. Niwareka was the princess of the underworld and the daughter of a tohunga ta moko, which means the master-artist of ta moko. She had a wish to explore the upper-world, there she met Mataora. They fell in love with each other and soon married. There was not ta moko in the world of Mataora so he wore designs painted on his face and body.

One day he abused his wife and she left him running back to her father. The young man felt that he made a terrible mistake and began to seek his princess. When he finally found her, he was so exhausted because of his long trip that the paint on his face was messed. The people of the other world laughed at him. He was ashamed so he asked the father-in-law to teach him the art of ta moko. Niwareka forgave him and finally went back to the world above, bringing with them the knowledge of ta moko.

Ta Moko Today

Today most of Maori tattoos are done with a tattoo machine, though there are some people who prefer traditional ways to the modern ones. More women are involved in tattooing. The new generations learn about their roots, they respect their history and traditions and are proud to be Maori. In all Moko will always be a significant part of the Maori culture and heritage.

Scorpion Tattoos Design

A tattoo or a body art has become a popular form of self expression in recent times. Although tattooing is an ancient form of art, it has gained a huge popularity these days. You can find a lot of people having tattoo designs on their skin. Some people ink themselves in order to look stylish and be trendy whereas some others get it done to symbolize the deeper meaning associated with it. This form of body art is very popular among young adults. Among the myriad of designs available, if you are looking for a body art that is attractive as well as has a strong meaning associated with it, you can go for Scorpion tattoos.

A Scorpion tattoo is mainly made by people who belong to that specific zodiac sign. People who are born within the month of 23rd October to 22nd November basically belong to Scorpion sun sign. So, these people generally ink their skin with this zodiac sign. This zodiac symbol tattoo signifies all qualities associated with the sun sign. It stands for dignity, determination, sensuality, self-confidence and devotion. A Scorpion tattoo is also the symbol of victory of supreme over evil. It even symbolizes supreme maternal sacrifice.

These tattoo designs are available in several forms such as the ones with its tail coiled or the other with its tail as pointed as a needle. These designs can also be combined with other designs such as initials of a name, flames etc for personalizing it. You can even use your imagination and creativity for creating the body art. These designs look great on any part of body. Although popular as arm tattoos, these designs can also be made in other parts of body like legs, shoulders, feet or even back. Scorpion tattoos are usually very colorful, bright, exotic and attractive and so never fails to capture the attention of people.

With a bit of research work, you will be able to find the perfect artist for tattooing different designs of Scorpio on your body. There are various Scorpion tattoo ideas for you to choose from. To make this design look realistic and natural, you need to look at the artwork considering the following things in mind. Firstly, you need to ensure that the artwork you want to portray on your skin has plenty of detail. The tattoo designs must have all leg joints and segments in tail properly reproduced. The claws must have a realistic crablike look. Next, always ensure to make use of bright colors when producing the design. Use as many stripes and patterns in design as possible for replicating the camouflage markings. Also consider the size of the Scorpion tattoo. Smaller artwork means less detail would be incorporated in the design and that won't be so appealing. So, it is always a good idea to design Scorpion tattoos on larger area.

You can get information about all kinds of animal tattoos, whether it is wolf tattoo, koi fish tattoo, dolphin tattoo, lion tattoo, snake tattoo or Scorpion tattoos, once you log on to http://www.tattoos-malu-art.com/.

Temporary Tattoos - A Hobby With Loads of Fun

Have you wondered what it would be like to turn a hobby that you really love into a great living? Temporary Tattoos are the perfect solution.

First you have to find the right products. There are many different ones to choose from and you will need the very best. Your choices for Temporary Tattoos range from hand painted, water release transfers, alcohol release tattoos, coloured inks, reusable stencil products, face and body paints and many other products.

The most important thing is to 'Sell the Sizzle' and create your name. It might be Raymond's Temporary Tattoos or Sally Temp Tatts. Make sure you have a big, colourful logo and a large display of photos and pictures of tattoo art so that people can see you have a real Tattoo Studio. Crowds are drawn to colour and interesting designs.

People need to understand what you are doing as soon as they see you and be inspired to get their Tattoo. Be inviting but never push people to buy. If someone is standing there looking a bit shy, simply tell them to come into the studio rather than hanging back, looking through the glass. Always apply tattoos to yourself so you can show that it's trouble-free and they work.

Keep your back to the crowd so people can see what you are doing. Give them time to check out the different Tattoo designs and when it's their turn they won't waste your time deciding which one they want. You can then work quickly and efficiently.

Application of perfect hi-tech Tattoos should take 20-30 seconds. In this way you can make good money. Your stock should cost about 30 cents per tattoo and can be sold for $3.00- $5.00 each. When the Tattoo is completed give the customer your card containing instructions on caring for their tattoo and your phone details so people can come back to you or tell their friends.

Be careful when working outside. If it's a windy day your Airbrush Gun could clog up. There are rescue products available that will allow you to immediately switch over to a different method so that you can keep working and not lose any money, even if the electricity is cut off.

Try not to do Henna at large events as it takes too long to dry. Henna is best left for private appointments where you have time for the Henna to dry.

Don't forget to have your tattoo paper with you so you can create a design on the spot if someone wants a customised tattoo applied.

Displaying your Temporary Tattoos is so important. The best way is to have a sticky board where you place the tattoos image side out on the board. When a customer makes a purchase, remove the Tattoo and apply it. This leaves a gap on the board which should be refilled quickly. In this way the customer only sees what is in front of them and you will move all of your stock.

Make sure your work station is keep very clean and stocked up. Wear a uniform with your logo prominently displayed. Never sit to work. Standing is easier and you can move the customer easily to apply Tattoos on various spots on the Body.

Always add-in colour for FREE. Show that you care about adding value and giving good customer service. Let people know that the main reason you are doing this is to encourage young people not to commit to permanent tattoos. A try-before-you-buy philosophy will help them make an informed choice so there are no regrets.

Next you need to start working in nightclubs. Take your kit into the club and suggest to the owners that their customers get a free tattoo voucher with each drink they buy. You will then let the customer choose for FREE any Tattoo on the board which you will apply. The club pays in advance for this service, half before the event and the balance on the day or night it takes place. Confirm the booking date once the cheque for the advance payment has been cleared. Everyone's a winner, the customer gets something for FREE, the club is rewarded with happy customers who will keep coming back and you get paid.

While you are doing all this, talk to other Tattooists and suggest that they send their customers to you to trial different Tattoo Designs. Their customers can really think about the design and where they want it applied. They don't need to rush and the Tattooists are happy as they don't want people coming to them who can't make a decision.

Everyone benefits and you will always be in paid work.

Temporary Tattoos can be the secret of your success in the TV and Film industry. You will make many contacts and get great opportunities presented to you. You will make so much money and love every moment. Here Are A Few Suggestions

So you have decided that it is time to either get your first tattoo or you have decided to add to your expanding body art. Well before you rush out and get some new ink, here are a few cute tattoo designs for girls to take into consideration.

It is safe to say that insects and reptiles do not come off as cute to most people. They are more often associated with nightmarish images and tend to scare people. However, many insects and reptiles represent gods and deities. So it actually can be a cute tattoo design for girls to get an insect or reptile if they do research and tie it to a specific god or goddess. But if you choose not to go the route of religious affiliation, they can still work. A small gecko or salamander can be cute. So can a ladybug or something of that nature. So keep an open mind when it comes to creepy crawlies and getting a tattoo of them.

Birds also work well for as a tattoo design for girls. Many birds have a certain meaning attached to them, which you could to use to display your personality. If you have overcome hardships in your life, perhaps the image of a phoenix could be a cool design for you. Or if you are a busy, energetic person, maybe a hummingbird. Again it is important to do some research to find out specific meanings of the images. But you could easily find a bird and a design that really reflects your personality.

Another cute tattoo design for girls could just be a family pet that you either have or have lost. A lot of people choose to remember family pets in the form of a tattoo. Not only will it look cute and show your sensitive side, but it will be a way to always carry your pet with you and serve as a reminder of their companionship. Pets are members of your family, so what better way to remember them than getting their image put on your body permanently.

Always take into consideration where you are getting your tattoo and what location on your body you are getting it. Makes sure that a licensed professional is the one doing it and you are getting the tattoo in an appropriate location on your body. Few things in life are worse than a bad tattoo, a tattoo in a bad location, or worse, both. Be smart about it and be safe.

Lillian E. is the founder of Tattoo Designs for Girls and hopes that her experience will guide all you ladies out there find the perfect tattoo designs for girls!

Don't Miss This Opportunity Ladies!

Get FREE designs... click http://www.tattoodesignsforgirls.co/

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://amazing-tattoos.blogspot.com/2011/11/thinking-about-new-tattoo-here-are-few.html' title='Thinking About a New Tattoo? All it takes is one impulsive decision at a tattoo parlor and you are literally scarred for life. The ink will remain imprinted under your skin forever, and though it may fade as a result of time or sun exposure, the mark will never fully disappear. You are now faced with the problem of how to remove your regretful tattoo. So what is the best method of tattoo removal? Here is a list of the various methods of tattoo removal, from professional removal to home remedies.

Most Effective Methods of Tattoo Removal
Laser Therapy - Lasers focus heat energy under the skin in concentrated bursts. In this process, the laser beam forces the ink particles under the skin to separate. Once the ink is extricated from the skin tissue, the body naturally expels the dead skin and the ink. The laser is able to selectively target color pigments (this would be the color of the tattoo) so that the healthy, ink-free skin tissue is minimally affected. This process can be quite painful and has a long recovery process. Laser Therapy Treatments can cost between $2000-$3000 and may require multiple treatments depending on the size, location, color scheme, and the healing process of the patient.
Pulse Light Therapy - A special glass prism is set upon the skin of the tattoo and light is sent through the glass, which focuses the light energy. The light breaks up the particles in the same way it does using laser therapy but it is less painful since the process uses light beams instead of laser beams. However, there is still a lengthy healing process and it is often a painful recovery. Special gels are used to soothe the burning feeling on the treated area. The price is often greater than that of laser therapy treatments because they charge for each pulse, sometimes as much as $10/pulse in a treatment that may require many pulses depending on the size of the tattoo.
Safe Tattoo Removal Home Remedies
Tattoo Removal Cream - apply daily as is instructed by the manufacturers, after tattoo fades, you can sand off the area (only the top layers of skin), make sure to use antibacterial products afterwards. These creams have a varying degree of success and often times it is dependent upon the amount of treatments done by the user and how hard they sand the area. Creams can cost between $20-$150.
Laser Removal - burn the tattoo off with at-home laser removal technology; these kits are usually very inexpensive compared to the professional therapy. However, this low price also means that the therapy may not be as effective. Home Laser Tattoo Removal kits can cost anywhere between $40-$200.
DO NOT USE
Salabrasion - The tattoo is removed through rubbing saltwater onto the tattoo until the area bleeds, this will leave a scar. If the tattoo has deep color tones or was done recently, this method won't have any effect on the tattoo with the exception of mild fading and scarring around the area.Dermabrasion - The skin in the tattoo is frozen and then sanded away until the skin is completely gone. This is not only ineffective, but it is extremely painful and will cause massive scarring.
Tattoo Removal Bleach - This involves rubbing bleach onto the tattoo area to burn off the skin. Bleach is extremely damaging and there's no way to ensure that it will burn only the select area where the tattoo is. Most likely, bleaching will leave a scar on the entire area on and around the tattoo and the effectiveness of the removal is questionable at best.

Prison Tattoos and Their Meaning

Prison tattooing is the practice of creating and displaying tattoos in a prison environment. They are often used to portray gang membership, prison status, family bonds, spiritual beliefs and are often used as a form of code and have hidden meanings. Tattooing is forbidden in most prisons and therefore is done in secret, with makeshift tattoo equipment. Within the expanding prison system, tattoos are taken seriously by the inmates and their guards alike. Tattoos obtained while locked up in prison have special significance both to the prisoners themselves as well as back on the streets.

Methods of Tattooing in Prison

There are two standard type of prison tattoo pistols, the spinner and the relay. The relay pistol is much better than the spinner rig-up and is now more widely used. An inmate breaks down his most prized possession, a radio, and removes the transistor. The thin copper wire is then removed which is wrapped around a screw which provides an automatic relay when powered up. The inmate must then somehow acquire bristles from a wire brush from maintenance, and sharpen them to provide the needle. The cylinder is made from a quality mechanical pencil and the armature bar is made with a piece of flexible pallet band and dime size magnet. The tattoo gun is then powered by the transistor of another radio. So owning one of these tattoo "pistols" is quite costly and in prison, "money" can be hard to come by.

Obviously without this equipment, the ole pick and poke method with some type of pin works too.

Prison tattoo ink recipe

Get a metal container, a cut in half soda can is best, and put baby oil and cotton into the can. You then will need a flat piece of metal that can be put over the opening of the can, without covering it. Burn the baby oil and cotton allowing the smoke to hit the metal sheet and blacken it as darkly as possible. You will then scrape all of the black powder off, and repeat. You want to use a credit card or something similar to do this, as razors and other metal scrapers might leave shards in the powder. Put your tattoo powder in a small container, a toothpaste cap is what I recommend, and fill the cap about halfway. Then add a couple drops of clear, scentless, shampoo. Stir thoroughly. Your completed ink should have a pen's inks consistency, or maybe slightly thicker. To thin your ink, add shampoo, and to thicken it up, add more powder.

Some inmates will simply use the ink out of a pen. There are various methods of concocting an ink recipe and they have all probably been used at one time or another.

Due to the lack of proper equipment and sterile environments in prison, the tattooing in prison poses health risks, such as HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis. However, prisoners are ominously aware of this and take as many precautions as are possible given the conditions under which they are operating.

Many inmates in prison who do tattooing are very talented artists. Having quality tattooing skills is prison is a very lucrative skill to possess. Seasoned tattoo artists in prison stand a far better chance of making "money" than say the inmate who is trying to sling drugs behind the scenes. They also gain the admirable respect of other prisoners as well as the correctional officers themselves. Unlike other mind bending activities such as gossip or gang related stimuli the tattoo artist occupies his mind with skin and art.

Some Prison Tattoo Meanings in North America

Three dots arranged as a triangle - this design is most commonly found between the prisoner's forefinger and thumb. The design stands for "mi vida loca," which means "my crazy life."

Teardrop tattoo - this design is worn by the eye. It indicates the wearer has killed someone or that the person had a friend killed in prison.

Shamrock - this design is worn anywhere on the body and is often found on those belonging to the Aryan Brotherhood. In this case, the shamrock often also includes the number 12, with the 1 standing for "A" and the 2 standing for "B."

Ace of spades - Worn anywhere on the body, this design is mostly worn by those belonging to either the Aco Town or Asian Boyz gang. The A, which is often placed in the middle of the spade, is meant to symbolize Asian while the spade symbolizes thievery.

The number 13 - this tattoo indicates membership with the Mara Salvatrucha 13 gang.

The number 14 - this tattoo indicates membership with the Nuestra Familia, which is a prison gang. This gang is affiliated with the Nortenos, a street gang.

Area codes - many gang members use the area code to their neighborhood as a tattoo, though this can become outdated as area codes are changed.

Clock with no hands - most commonly placed on the upper arm, this tattoo symbolizes "doing time."

Spider web - generally found on the elbow, this tattoo is used by white supremacists to demonstrate that they have severely injured or killed one of their "opponents." The design is also commonly found on people that have been in prison.

Clock faces without hands - doing time

Tombstones with numbers - the years they were inside

Tombstones with numbers and RIP - mourning the death of a friend

Face of female crying - has someone on the outside waiting

SWP - supreme white power

100 % pure - pure white or anglo

Cell window with sun or bird showing - waiting to get out

Other countries such as Russia, Australia, France, UK, China and others all have prisons with inmates who bear tattoos with significant meanings. As a matter of fact, Russia and it's former republics have a very elaborate array of tattoo meanings.

One very major point inmates consider while getting tattooed is getting caught. If an inmate gets caught getting a tattoo they are subject to a penalty of 15 days of solitary confinement. Being suspected of getting a tattoo as perhaps is indicated by the reddening of the skin where a fresh tattoo has been inked can still bring repercussions, such as being charged. But hey, if your doing life without the possibility of parole does this really concern you a whole lot?

The concept of prison tattoos is hardly a modern one. There is evidence to suggest that prisoners were tattooed as early as Egyptian times. As with many of the tattoos worn by prisoners today, these tattoos also had significant meaning. For example king or pyramid tattoos were worn by those that were very dangerous, such as assassins, head bosses, and masterminds.

What Kind of Tattoo Equipment You Need

The sign of a good reputable tattoo study can be recognised by the quality of the equipment they use. By using superior machines and materials the tattoo artist can then provide the best end result. The studios major concern should be the protection and safety of its clients and by using the best quality items is the surest way of doing this.

The correct and good quality gun that is used to apply the tattoo is the backbone of any studio. If it is of a high quality then this equipment will last for many years and will ensure that you will get the best quality result every time.

The right needles used by the tattoo artist make sure that the client is always protected. Although needles can be sterilised and re used the most favoured needle is the variety that after use is disposed of to prevent any risk of cross contamination. Your studio should only use high quality inks as poor or cheaper ink can harm the reputation, you want your tattoos to last a long time and this is achieved by using high quality products.

Attached to the machine and the gun are tubes that can be of two types. The can be made of either plastic or stainless steel and although the metal ones have been used for many years and then sterilised after use they have been replaced with plastic tubes that are then only used once for each client and then disposed off. This makes the whole process more hygienic for the client.

Stencils are used by the tattoo artist to get the chosen design from the book to the skin and there are now papers that can help with clean perfect lines onto the skin. These techniques will ensure that the tattoo artist and you will get the design that you requested.

Medical paper is used for clients to sit on which is then discarded after each client. This paper protects the clients from bodily fluids and ensures that these are not transferred to the next client. Other essential equipment includes gloves, gauze and ointment to ensure hygienic conditions at all times.

A studio equipped with the best and right tattoo equipment will ensure that their reputation is of high standing. Health and safety standards help the client to feel comfortable and that you are giving them the best possible service when they have their tattoo. Good practices of this kind will enhance your studios reputation for many years.

For quality tattoo equipment and tattoo supplies please visit powerlinesupplies.co.uk

The Various Tools Used For Tattoo Art

Tattoo art has existed since centuries. Different types of tools are needed to make this work of art precise and effective.

Stick and poke is often used for making tattoos at home. Generally experienced artists perform this work of art by using these tools. They make use of a sewing needle's tip and get it wrapped in ink-soaked thread, leaving the point protruding. The instrument is saturated with ink and the skin is pricked time and again for creating the design. The thread's purpose is to keep the needle point coated in ink so that more ink penetrates the skin.

One of the most important instruments which you need to use for creating a perfect tattoo in today's world is a tattoo stencil. If you take a look at a general context, a large number of experienced tattooists tend to prefer the stencil method. It is better to opt for this particular method rather than the freehand design at the first step. When the tattoo is applied on the skin of the person, a considerable part of it needs to be stretched. If you are not using a stencil in this regard, the entire tattoo may exhibit quite a distorted look.

A very methodical process is followed during the use of the stencil. A carbon paper is usually used to copy the design on to the stencil. It is also important to keep in mind that the image always appears on the skin in a reverse format. Apart from the usage of carbon paper, a light label can also be used. After the stencil is made, it is ready to be applied on the customer's skin. Before the application of the stencil, the skin of the customer must be shaved properly. The proper use of antiseptic is also quite essential. Some of the tattoo experts use the roll on deodorant with the stencil. However, proper amount of pressure is needed to be put with the stencil to create the right design.

Outlining is also an important aspect of tattoo art. This outlining or inking is done through the use of needles. Different types of needles are used by tattoo artists to create the most effective outlines. Whether it is star tattoos, butterfly tattoos, Celtic tattoos, dragon tattoos or any other design, a needle is a must for tattooing. In the present times tattooing is done with electrical tattoo machines that insert ink in the skin through a group of needles, which are soldered into the bar and are attached to the oscillating unit. This unit drives the needles in and out of skin 80-150 times a second. These needles are usually single-use needles, which come packed individually.

There are a variety of Tattoo Art tools available. All these tools play an important role in the art of tattoo designing. You can log on to http://www.tattoos-malu-art.com/ for more information on this art and star tattoos or any other tattoo design.

What Is Tattoo Removal?

Tattoo removal has been around for many years, although new technology has made the procedure both more effective and less painful. Still, the age of the tattoo, the ink used and the way it was applied all factor in to the removal process. Currently, the most effective process to remove tattoos is through the use of a laser, which uses pulses of light to break up the ink under the skin's surface.

The Basics of Tattoo Removal

Tattoo removal has developed greatly over the last few decades. In the past, the only option for removing a tattoo was through excision, which is cutting away the tattoo, or a process called dermabrasion, in which the skin is basically sanded. Laser tattoo removal is much more effective and humane. No matter which tattoo removal process is used, it's important to remember that success depends on many factors, including the age of the tattoo, how deep the ink is, the skin of the patient and even the color of the ink.

The Laser Removal Process

Laser tattoo removal has become the best way to get rid of unwanted tattoos. In the past, tattoos removed by laser left a noticeable scarring of the skin, usually in the shape of the old tattoo. Now, technology has developed that actually leaves the skin virtually unharmed. The process involves the use of a laser that produces light at specific wavelengths. These wavelengths pass through the skin and break up the tattoo ink underneath, allowing it to dissipate and become absorbed by the body. Different wavelengths are used to break up different colors of ink, with dark colors being the easiest to remove.

The Effectiveness of Laser Tattoo Removal

Laser tattoo removal remains the most effective way to get rid of a tattoo. The effectiveness, however, depends on many factors, such as the color of the ink. Dark blue and black ink is the easiest to remove, and red can be broken down easily as well. The most difficult colors to remove from the skin are light blue and green, making additional treatments necessary. Professional tattoos tend to take longer because they are deeper in the skin. Other factors that can contribute to the effectiveness of the procedure include the age of the tattoo, the skin of the patient and the location of the tattoo.

Average Length of the Procedure

In general, it takes longer to remove a tattoo than it took to apply it originally. Most require a number of sessions, usually 6 to 15. Large tattoos or those with green ink may require up to fifteen sessions. The number of sessions needed depends on the depth and color of ink, as well as the size of the tattoo. It is hard to give a time per session because there are many variables, but each session is spaced out about 4 weeks to allow for healing.

Tattoos are designed to be a permanent addition to the skin. Fortunately, the laser removal process makes it possible to remove the remnants of a regrettable tattoo or one that has simply aged beyond recognition. Although it's probably the most expensive option, it's the least likely to scar and the most effective way to get rid of large, old or colorful tattoos. Laser removal is also the safest option and carries the least risk of complications.

To sign up for Dr. Johnson's newsletter and for more information about Laser Hair Removal, Hormone Replacement Therapy, Spider Veins, Mesotherapy, Laser Tattoo Removal, Weight Loss and more visit the Sierra Nevada Wellness Center website.

For expanded information about tattoo removal make sure to check out the Tattoo Removal Reno website.

The Importance of Knowing How Tattoo Equipment Is Prepared Before Use

The art of having a tattoo is something that has been with us for many years. In ancient times tattoos were used to show rank or status and where religious drawings have been used to indicate the role of the individual. Today most tattoos are for body art and for aesthetic purposes only. Tattoo equipment can be easily bought and the studios that provide a tattooing service are on the increase.

It has become a very popular thing for people to have some type of body art on any part of the torso and with the development of professional tattoo studios it has become a safe and hygienic pastime. Studios will have stringent health standards to make sure that any tattoos they do are carried out in a sterilised and safe environment.

The basic equipment required to do tattoos is a tattoo machine. It is fitted with many tiny needles that then deliver ink to the skin. The quantity of needles used is dependent upon the size of the design they are doing. The machines are constructed in such a way to make them stable to allow the tattoo artist to draw expertly on the skin.

At all times the equipment used must be sterile to prevent any infection being passed from one client to another. Needles can be sterilised and be re used but the more modern approach is to use disposable needles that are discarded after use. As the needles come into contact with the clients blood and can potentially carry diseases the use of the disposable needles has become more popular.

A reputable tattoo studio will also ensure prior to starting the design that the client does not have any allergies to the different ingredients in the ink. They can contain carbon black or iron oxide so it is very important that any allergies are identified before work on the tattoo starts. After it has been established that there are no allergies then work on your tattoo can begin.

Prior to starting the tattoo the client should always be made familiar with the procedures involved and the importance of hygienic routines being used. A professional studio will have these written for the client to study before any work takes place. The artist will need to have very clean hands and sterile gloves worn during the whole process.

Wounds are created as part of the tattooing process which provide opportunities for bacteria to enter the body, it is therefore essential that the client is aware of the hygiene procedures that are required by both the studio and the client to prevent the risk of disease and infection.

For quality tattoo equipment and tattoo supplies visit powerlinesupplies.co.uk

What You Should Know About Chest Tattoos

As of the moment, there are over hundreds of thousands of designs made available for Tattoo addicts and aficionados. You will find each of these categorized according to the actual skin art site, that is, the region of the body where the tattoo is found. Chest tattoos, or chest pieces as some call it, are becoming very popular.

If you are thinking of hopping in with the trend, here are some aspects of getting this kind of tattoo that you need to take note of:

Question: where is the chest when it comes to tattooing? For men, this might refer to the part immediately below the neck, from the clavicles to the pectoral muscles. Women, on the other hand, do not include their breast area when they are talking about tattoos on the chest. Then again, this does not mean that you cannot tattoo over both areas. In this world of skin art, anything goes.

One of the biggest misconceptions about chest tattoos is that this kind is the least painful of all kinds, mainly because they think the chest is the breast region in women or the pectorals in men only. But since the region we are dealing with is above that area, it means you will be tattooing over a few ribs and the clavicle. This also means that the experience can be pretty agonizing - especially if it is your first time.

As mentioned, the chest part is pretty bony. When choosing a design, you might want to go for one which will work better with the natural curves and bony protuberances on the chest. The designs of the chest tattoos you see on the internet will look different once it is on your body. One thing which might help you lessen the mistake here is to work on a rough draft with your artist.

It is alright to just tell your tattoo artist what you want on your chest or other body parts. However, if this is your first time, you might want to listen to the tattoo artist and follow his advice. Sure, you have your own ideas also but he has been in the business long enough to know what will work and what won't.

You should always know how much the whole job will cost you. Different tattoo artists will charge differently as well. Often, this depends on where you are and the level of fame of your artist of choice. Still, it is important that you have an idea.

Chest tattoos are not the creation of the 20th century. This has been done by people far longer and in different places around the world. For some of them, this represents pride. For others, it signifies something close to their hearts. Simply put, you are better off with a tattoo design that means something to you.

Rad Woodeson has been reviewing products and services for over a decade now. His latest passion is tattoos and all the weird and wonderful designs that are available on the market today. Deciding to have a tattoo is a big decision so Rad has decided to look at the various options available to people on the internet. The phoenix is a beautiful, mythological bird that incinerates itself, only to rise again, from the ashes, renewed with youth and vigor.

Phoenix bird tattoos require a talented artist. The artistic possibilities are endless, and this makes the phoenix perfect for either a man or a woman. A full-back tattoo design works well for a man; while, a small, stylized, tattoo placed near a hip or on the lower back is perfect for a woman.

This mythical bird lived many centuries ago. Many cultures accept this story; thus, there are numerous, slight differences in the legend. Christians, for example, created artwork of the phoenix to represent Christ. Romans and Greeks produced beautiful drawings, and sculptures of the phoenix, as well.

Designs ideas are easy to find when searching online. First, consider where to place the image of the phoenix on your body. A full-back tattoo may take as long as a year to complete and may cost upwards of $2000. This will require multiple visits to the tattoo artist. A small, stylized tattoo without a lot of detail can run anywhere from $25 to $100. Intricate details, custom tattoos and large areas of the body will involve a higher fee.

A sleeve is intricate and detailed, in most cases. These tattoos are quite impressive. Artists can create a large, stylized, tattoo of the phoenix on the entire arm. For a more dramatic, artsy appearance, tattoos can then spillover onto the shoulders, chest or back.

With a little research online, a reliable tattoo body shop can be found quickly and easily. A tattoo artist should be chosen carefully. Stop by and check out their work beforehand. Speak to previous customers to get a feel for how well these individuals like their tattoos. Ink on the skin, in the form of art and self-expression, is not new; however, with the help of the World Wide Web, a new generation can easily view literally, thousands of tattoos in only a matter of a few minutes time.

Skin is the perfect canvas to many artists. Symbols are some of the most popular tattoos inked today. Peace, hearts, Asian, and zodiac symbols are among some of the most fashionable.

Tattoos of the phoenix have been popular for many centuries. These "works-of-art" are especially meaningful to those who wear it. Custom designs can include many colors, and unique patterns.

Susan Trudeau writes about tattoos on her website - http://www.best-tattoo-sites.com/. Choosing the right tattoo design can be quite challenging. So if you simply love getting tattoos, this will be a breath of fresh air.

There are thousands of different tattoo designs to choose from and the number is always growing. There are more designs than you will ever need. Your only headache will be deciding which tattoo is the one for you.

You might be one of those people who have always known what design you are after and have just been waiting for the opportunity to get the tattoo inked. However, you may also be the type who can never quite make up their mind about which tattoo will suit you best. If this sounds like you then you need to do your homework before making that critical decision.

If you are after some inspiration why not take a look at the internet where you will find hundreds of ideas to feed your imagination. You will also be able to read about other peoples experiences which will help you in your decision to go ahead with your first tattoo.

You should also remember that the decision to have a tattoo should not be taken lightly. If you are at all unsure I suggest you go for a temporary tattoo first and see how you feel with that before taking the leap to a permanent inking.

I have spoken to many people who have regretted their decision to have a tattoo. This is normally because the design they have chosen has been one they have not liked over time. My first tip is not to select your design on a whim. Think about why you are having your tattoo and what it signifies.

My second tip is to think about where on your body you have the tattoo. Do you want the tattoo to be visible when you are fully clothed or would you rather have a more discreet tattoo that only you and your loved ones know about? Tattoos in the workplace are often frowned upon as unprofessional so think about how this will affect you and your career.

My final tip is to make sure you are in the right frame of mind when getting inked. If you are not this might lead to a design that you later regret.

Rad Woodeson has been reviewing products and services for over a decade now. They have since become popular among many tattoo parlors in other countries including the US. While the original tattoo bearers usually wore these tattoos on their faces as well, body tattoos are more common in modern society, as they can be covered by clothing.

Tribal body tattoo markings are also very unique and individual, allowing a person to express his or her personality. These tattoos used to signify that warriors were going into battle, or would in some way demonstrate prowess amongst the tribe.

Now, getting a tribal body tattoo sets you apart from the crowd, and really allows your own creativity to shine forth. If you are interested in modeling or showing off your tattoos, a tribal tattoo will really stand out.

One thing that makes these tattoos so unique is their fiery, exciting design. Tribal tattoos naturally draw the eye in the direction of the pattern. They look like black flame on a person's body, and this adds a kind of heat to your personality when people see your tattoos. If you want to impress that special someone, getting a tattoo is a great way to do it - and a great incentive to stick to a healthy diet and exercise program.

Of course, if you'd also like to just show off the body you've been working on, tattoos are a great excuse to do so. Tribal body tattoo designs are a little more sophisticated and meaningful than regular body tattoos. They are seen to have a spiritual significance amongst the original tribe members, and that significance has not been lost on modern wearers of tattoos.

If you're interested in getting a tattoo that's a little more refined, but still exciting, tribal body tattoo designs are definitely worth looking at. It's also a good idea to ask about, or research, the meaning of the tattoo you pick. Often, certain designs signify specific traits, or had significant meaning in the Maori tribe.

Whenever you're seeking out a new tattoo parlor or artist, be sure to do some background checking to make sure they're safe. Some parlors don't always keep the best hygiene, or reuse needles, which is something you want to avoid at all costs. Be sure to ask your tattoo artist of choice about his or her experience, as well.

When going for a tribal tattoo, it's especially important to pick an experienced tattoo artist, as they'll be able to nail the patterns and designs better than someone who's not used to doing tribal tattoos. You can usually find a portfolio or list of credentials which will verify the artist's capabilities.

Ultimately, choosing a tribal tattoo that covers the chest, back, or arms - or all three - is a great way to impress your friends and bring out your own personality. Don't be afraid to spend some time thinking carefully about what defines you, and what kind of designs you think would fit you best. Tattoos are ultimately deep expressions of the self, so it's important to pick one that you'll be happy with for a long time.

SZ Bailey writes about tattoos on her website - Graphic Body Tattoo

Find more information on Body Tattoos and Tattoo Ideas here.

What Exactly Are Ambigram Tattoos?

Tattoo lettering is a very popular design choice for tattoo enthusiasts. Names, dates, words of inspiration, strong beliefs, are just a few of the reasons for this popularity. Sometimes the lettering stands alone or it's added to an image.

Ambigrams are tattoo lettering fonts that can be read both right side up as well as upside-down. They make for interesting tattoo lettering. Sometimes they will be the same exact word or name when read in either direction. The more complicated ambigram designs spell different words depending on which direction they are being read. When the word is identical, the design is referred to as a symmetrical ambigram. Designs with 2 different words are, as you can probably guess, called asymmetrical ambigrams.

The field of ambigram tattoos only emerged as a popular tattoo design choice back around 2004 or so, but its popularity has risen quickly and ambigrams are now a trendy design choice. Some tattoo artists specialize in creating custom ambigram tattoo designs from words or names supplied by the customer.

The impact of an ambigram is stronger when it is a short phrase or a single word. Although it's possible to set up 3-6 word phrases in an ambigram tattoo, it doesn't have the same visual appeal as a single short word. For an ambigram to have the most bang, it has to be easy to discern the word in either direction which means the font size has to be large enough so a person can easily make out the word. If you want multiple words to create a long phrase, you'll have to keep the font size smaller. Discerning the words both ways will be much more difficult because of the number of letters in addition to the smaller font size.

The best way to match up a good design for an asymmetrical ambigram is to stick with two words or names that contain the same number of letters. If possible, stay away from the most difficult letters for an ambigram design. The difficult letters are Q, U, W, V, and the letter Z.

Where Do I Get an Ambigram Design?

Ambigrams can be designed for a tattoo stencil in one of three ways. You can find tattoo flash art that already has the artwork laid out and ready for stencil work. This artwork will usually consist of popular phrases and words in a variety of font styles. A search on the internet will help you to find web sites that sell ambigrams like this.

You can also hire a gifted artist who has a talent for lettering and, especially, a gift for ambigrams.

The third way is to find an auto-generator on the internet. You can find web sites with software that allows you to plug in your word or two, and it will generate your ambigram. You have more limitations with the auto generated type of ambigram but if the phrase or phrases are simple enough, this method can work for you.

Susan Trudeau has a few sites on the topic of tattoos. The truth of the matter is the majority of tattoos seen today are created with permanent color pigments instead of ink.

I confess! Like many others, my interest piques when I see individuals decorated in tattoos. Amazed at the symbols and colors these advocates choose, a combination of lines, shapes and colors combine to form an elegant display of bodily art. Without question, tattoos are stylish and their presence only intensifies with jewelry. As in many cases, jewelry befriends tattoos and vice versa. From a distance, it appears to be a perfect union wherein each complements the other. However, similar to many human marriages, the joining of tattoo ink and jewelry can end in separation. It is for this reason that I caution tattoo enthusiasts.

Don't panic! If professional tattoos are in your future, then by all means proceed forward. Just do so with the understanding that following the procedure, you may or may not be able to wear your favorite piece of jewelry.

Can People With Tattoos Wear Jewelry?

So how can the inquisitive tattoo seeker know if he or she can wear the latest styles in pewter rings, silver watches, necklaces, chokers and fashionable pendants? It's simple! And even better, knowing the answer won't require you to purchase a test kit from your local store or worse, endure expensive testing at a lab facility. Since most all tattoo color pigments contain metals, your answer will come from your reaction to the tattoo itself. In essence, if you experience a negative reaction on or around a specific color pigment, it is likely you will be unable to wear jewelry containing the same metal used in the tattoo color.

Tattoo Ink: Allergic Reaction

What constitutes a negative reaction? A negative reaction to tattoo ink is described as the reddening, blistering or inflammation of the skin that occurs immediately or over time.

It is my experience, that customers with tattoos who experienced an adverse reaction to blue and green color pigments, containing metals, chromium and cobalt, experienced an allergic reaction to jewelry that contained nickel.

Let's suppose that you visit your local and reputable tattoo artist and decide on a stylish and colorful tattoo. After the work is completed, you notice a negative reaction around the red color of your tattoo. What do you do? How do you know which metals were used to create the red color pigments in question? The answer lies within the tattoo artist! By law, manufactures, as well as tattoo artists are under no obligation to consumers to disclose the ingredients used in creating their color palette. Many combinations are considered trade secrets, which like the name implies, are kept secret to prevent duplication from competitors.

As all colors are visually different, they are equally different in composition. Since tattoo artist hold information beknown only to them, it is important that tattooed individuals maintain a positive and ongoing relationship with the tattoo artist used in the unfortunate event they experience a negative reaction. In doing so, the tattoo artist is likely to disclose which metals he/she used.

For an extensive selection in the latest fashion styles available in men's and women's jewelry, visit http://www.menandbeyond.com/.

What Cross Tattoos Depict

Cross tattoos have become very popular in the recent times among both men and women. The design represents the same thing for both the genders because the cross symbol deals more with spiritual rather than physical.

People who get this tattoo done in their body remain tune with their spirituality. They very well know that they are more than just their physical bodies. Their faith and intuition factors act heavily when the solution to their problems are just beyond any kind of logic. Cross tattoos help these kinds of people be at peace. They rarely feel alone. These tattoos serve as a reminder to people that they are loved by God all time and by feeling this love the people remain compassionate, peaceful and loving to every human being. This tattoo art implies a special relation with God.

The cross designed tattoo has several meanings. The most obvious being the religious symbolism. Many people associate this design with Christian religion. Although Catholic or Christian symbolism is not the only basis for this design, it is an important one. Catholics and Christians have strong feelings about their religious convictions and thus find it a great way of expressing faith by placing them permanently on their body. It features the Latin cross, which is like a lower case letter T. There are even some Catholic tattoos that feature crucifix and this symbolizes Jesus crucified on cross.

The Celtic cross is one of the most popular types of cross tattoos. It is a combination of 2 different symbols-the circle and the Latin cross. The circle usually centers over the place where the lines in Latin cross intersect. The Celtic inspired designs combine mystical and religious symbolism from two different cultures. The Latin cross indicates the Christian idea of getting saved from denunciation. On the other hand the circle represents the ancient idea-the notion that death and life is eternal and cyclical. The other Celtic crosses have Celtic knots all over the design. These knots are basically never-ending and thus have similar symbolism as circle.

Many people are inking themselves with Maltese cross. This design is becoming a famous symbol of sacrifice and courage in today's culture. You can find a lot of firefighters wearing these design tattoos as a sign of dedication towards their job. This cross is an 8 pointed cross with 4 equal lengths V-shaped projections. Each and every point represents a fact of valor such as honesty, loyalty, religious faith etc.

Gothic cross tattoos have also become popular in the recent times. A lot of people in the Gothic community get inked with this design. This body art has a German style and makes use of several traditional religious imagery elements. They generally combine the Celtic or Latin cross with rebellious objects like barbed wire or daggers.

So, there are different types of cross tattoo designs with different meanings. Now if you start thinking about which design would suit you the best, there is no answer for this. You can get inked with any kind of cross tattoo design. The only that would matter is that the design you choose should speak to you spiritually.

To know more about the tattoo art culture and different types of <a
